Adventure Sports Bundle

When you’re ready for an action-packed vacation, pack a Travel Guard® travel insurance plan with our adventure sports add-on to protect your trip.

Travel Guard’s Adventure Sports Bundle removes certain exclusions on your policy that would otherwise prevent you from having coverage while doing certain adventurous or extreme activities.

What is the Adventure Sports Bundle?

The Adventure Sports Bundle is a great option for travelers who are planning activities that involve a little more risk than your standard hike or tour. Your travel insurance plan will have defined activities that are excluded, meaning that a loss that happens while partaking in that activity may not be covered. For example, a broken leg sustained while mountain climbing may not be covered as it otherwise may be under the Travel Medical Expense coverage.

That’s where the Adventure Sports Bundle comes in. Purchasing this bundle removes certain exclusions for Adventure Activities and Extreme Activities. Your Policy of Insurance will have more details on what activities fall into those categories, but common ones include SCUBA diving (up to certain depths), bungee jumping, sky diving, hang gliding, and mountain climbing (up to certain elevations). There’s no need to cancel your adrenaline-pumping activities – check to see if the Adventure Sports Bundle is right for you!

Can I add the Adventure Sports Bundle to my existing Travel Guard travel insurance plan?

Yes! So long as the Adventure Sports Bundle is an available add-on to the travel insurance plan you’ve purchased, you can add it to your travel insurance plan to help ensure you have the coverage you may need.

Can I get coverage for adventure sports while traveling internationally?

Yes, tourists traveling abroad can receive coverage for certain adventurous and extreme activities so long as their travel insurance plan and the Adventure Sports Bundle are purchased before departure.

What extreme sports are not covered on a typical travel insurance plan?

On Travel Guard’s base plans the adventurous and extreme activities that aren’t covered include things like sky diving, heli-skiing, mountain climbing (up to certain elevations), SCUBA diving (at certain depths) and other activities that are deemed similar. Those activities are what the Adventure Sports Bundle adds coverage for on your policy. It’s important to know there are also activities deemed “dangerous” that won’t be covered even with the bundle – activities like bull-riding, rock climbing without equipment and free diving (to name a few). Review your policy of insurance to confirm if the activity you have planned is one that will be covered. If you’re still not sure you can always call our specially trained representatives at 800.826.5248 and they can help.

Reviews and Testimonials

Last year I traveled with my daughter, who is an athlete who competes in tournaments worldwide.  I had not purchased travel insurance, and she was injured, requiring a hospital visit.  It was a nightmare when we returned, and I tried to get reimbursed through her health care provider for an out-of-network, out-of-country, hospital visit.  This year, I purchased travel insurance for us both through Travel Guard – but for me it was just an after-thought – it never occurred to me that I would need it.  Just three days into a 10-day trip to London, I received news that my father was placed in hospice and had little time to live.  I immediately made arrangements to return to the U.S. with the assistance of my agent, who was great at finding me a flight and making all the arrangements for my return.  The claim process was very easy for that emergency travel.  I travel often, for business and pleasure.  I will never travel again without travel insurance.  It really gives you peace of mind that you can return, if necessary, without much hassle or delay.
