What is the Name Your Family Bundle?
Sometimes family is defined by who you choose to have in your life, which is why the Name Your Family Bundle is ideal for travelers with a loved one who is a non-relative. The Name Your Family Bundle allows travelers to name an individual as a Family Member for you to receive Family Member-related, Unforeseen event coverage that wouldn’t be included otherwise.
Typically, if your non-Family Member loved one needed your care, or passed away while you were on vacation or before your departure, you would likely not have coverage for unused, non-refundable trip costs or additional charges needed to make changes to your trip. With the Name Your Family Bundle, your loved one now qualifies under the “Family Member” definition regarding the coverage under your Travel Guard travel insurance plan.
Can I add the Name Your Family Bundle to my existing travel insurance plan?
Yes! On relevant plans, you can add it to your plan to help ensure you have the coverages you may need.
Who qualifies as a family member on my travel insurance plan?
The definition of a Family Member can be found in your policy of insurance. Typical relations include parents, children, spouse, grandparents, and more. However, this would not include relations like friends, cousins, roommates, etc. – unless you add that person using the Name Your Family bundle.
How many people can I add to qualify as family members to the Name Your Family Bundle?
The Name Your Family Bundle only allows you to add one non-related individual to the definition of Family Member.
Does the person I name as family need to live in my state?
No, the individual you select to qualify as a Family Member does not need to reside in the state you live in.
