Travel Guard’s Quarantine Bundle may provide coverage for travelers who have been, or are believed to have been, exposed to a communicable disease and because of this are placed in mandatory isolation by a Physician or health official at their trip destination. The Quarantine Bundle may provide a daily stipend to help cover costs and ease the burden of being quarantined.
What is the Quarantine Bundle?
The Quarantine Bundle is an optional add-on to your Travel Guard travel insurance plan that expands the coverage under Trip Interruption to include certain mandatory health-related screening reasons, as well as a daily stipend if you experience a covered quarantine. The quarantine needs to be mandated by a Physician or government health official to receive the daily stipend benefits from the bundle. It’s important to know, if you are traveling to a destination with a mandatory quarantine upon arrival or departure, this bundle is not applicable for those quarantines.
Can I add the Quarantine Bundle to my existing Travel Guard travel insurance plan?
Yes, if you have a Travel Guard Preferred or Deluxe Plan, you can add the Quarantine Bundle to your travel insurance plan prior to departure.
Does the Quarantine Bundle only provide coverage for COVID-19?
The Quarantine Bundle provides coverage for many communicable disease-related quarantines that a Physician or government health official has determined is mandatory.
If I am quarantined, can I use both the Quarantine Bundle stipend and Trip Delay stipend?
There could be situations, such as confirmed diagnosis of a communicable disease, where both coverages apply. However, Trip Delay is primarily for delayed transportation, while the Quarantine Stipend is specific to the quarantine. Please see your policy of insurance for the complete terms and conditions of each coverage.
